There's a certain magic in starting your day with a perfectly brewed cup of pour-over coffee. It's not just a drink; it's a ritual, an art form, and for some of us, a much-needed caffeine jolt that keeps us from transforming into morning zombies.

When it comes to pour-over coffee, using the right tools can elevate your experience from "meh" to "Mecca Coffee magic." Introducing the Timemore Crystal Dripper Set, your new best friend in the quest for the perfect cup.

Why Pour Over Coffee?

Before diving into the Timemore Crystal Dripper Set, let’s take a moment to appreciate why pour-over coffee is such a beloved method among coffee enthusiasts. A pour-over is not about beating time, it’s about bending it to your advantage.

Flavour Extraction: Pour-over coffee is renowned for its ability to highlight the nuanced flavours of single-origin beans. The slow, precise pouring allows water to extract the coffee’s rich oils and complex flavours, resulting in a cup that's vibrant and full of character.

Control: This method gives you ultimate control over brewing time, water temperature, and the coffee-to-water ratio. It's like being the maestro of your own mini coffee orchestra.

Clean and Clear: The filtration process removes most of the oils and sediments, producing a clean, crisp cup perfect for savouring the delicate notes of specialty coffee.

Mindful Brewing: There's something meditative about the pour-over process. It’s you, the kettle, the dripper, and those glorious beans from our specially curated Producer Series collection, turning a daily necessity into an art form.

Brewing the Perfect Pour Over

Ready to brew? Here’s a step-by-step guide to making a sublime pour-over with the Timemore Crystal Dripper Set. We recommend selecting from our Producers Series collection whereby you can discover the flavours from around the coffee belt. This month we are showcasing delightful coffees from Mexico, Colombia, Rwanda, Brazil and Peru.

Gather Your Gear: You'll need your Timemore Crystal Dripper, filter papers, a gooseneck kettle, a scale & filtered water.

Grind the Beans: Freshness is key! Grind your coffee to a medium-fine consistency. Aim for about 15-18 grams of coffee for a single cup. (Grams depends on what type of coffee you choose) And important to remember, that the grind size can make or break your brew.

Heat the Water: Heat your water to around 90-96°C. Pro tip: Use filtered water to avoid any unwanted flavours. Your coffee deserves the best. FYI, to really elevate your drip coffee game, check out the Smart Kettle by Timemore that can heat up your water in 60 secs and keep it warm.

Rinse the Filter: Place the filter in the dripper and rinse it with hot water. This removes any papery taste and preheats your dripper.

Add Coffee Grounds: Place the dripper on your mug or carafe and add the ground coffee. Give it a little shake to level the grounds.

The Bloom: Start your timer and pour just enough water to wet the grounds (about 30-40 grams). Let it bloom for 30 seconds. This step releases CO2 and enhances flavour extraction.

The Pour: Slowly pour the rest of your water in a circular motion, keeping the water level consistent. This should take about 2-3 minutes.

Enjoy: Once the water has fully drained through the coffee bed, remove the dripper and behold your creation. Take a moment to inhale the aroma before taking that first sip.
