Maria Olimpia Cruz is hitting our shelves once more. Why? Because we just can’t wait to taste what this year’s harvest has to offer.
We fell in love with Maria Olimpia back in 2014. And one of the many benefits of having such a long relationship with a producer is experiencing the myriad of changes that happen on their farm and how these express in the coffee.
Maria Olimpia lives and works in El Cedral (Santa Bárbara, Honduras). She grows old varieties of Arabica trees - Bourbon and Typica - organically, on a tiny parcel of land only one hectare in size.
She consistently makes little adjustments to the processing and sorting to deliver optimal results. Today, all the washing and drying facilities have been relocated to her backyard. When we think of Maria Olimpia, we can picture her delicately, with the utmost attention, sorting and processing her coffee. Her passion and meticulous attention to all parts of the production process, shine through in her coffee.
In the cup, you'll find soft citrus fruits like mandarin and yuzu.
