Ahhh Gachatha... This coffee has played an integral role in shaping our single lot curation at Mecca Coffee. It's the kind of coffee that set the benchmark early on — and continues to inspire how we select and source to this day.
This year marks our sixteenth release from the Gachatha Cooperative, and it’s as electric as ever. Grown in the highlands of Nyeri County, Kenya, this lot delivers those hallmark notes we’ve come to anticipate — bright purple grape and cola, the kind that light up head roaster, Dan May’s palate year after year.
The cooperative itself is a model of excellence. Immaculate fermentation tanks, pristine processing, and a natural spring so clean you could drink from it.
This is the first of three Kenyan lots we’ll be sharing this season — and Gachatha sets the tone with confidence. Stay tuned, the best is yet to come.
