The follow-up to our first lot from Merci Fernández has arrived. This 100% SL9 varietal is the second coffee we’ve purchased from her this year — light, floral and brimming with notes of green grape and blood orange.



SL9 is a cross between Kenya’s celebrated SL28 and the resilient Timor Hybrid. Grown at high elevations in Peru, Colombia, and beyond, it delivers jasmine florals and tropical fruit sweetness. A varietal that balances resilience in the field with refinement in the cup.

As we have previously introduced Merci is a young and passionate producer from the Colasay region of Jaén, Peru, cultivating exotic varieties on her farm, La Pomarrosa. Drawing on her family’s deep-rooted coffee tradition and her own agricultural studies, she combines inherited knowledge with innovation to produce organic coffees of remarkable clarity.

Working alongside Origin Coffee Lab, Merci champions traceability, sustainability and community empowerment in one of Peru’s most exciting coffee regions.
