Benjamin comes from a respected lineage of Honduran coffee producers. His grandfather was a coffee producer and his father started Beneficio San Vicente, one of the world’s most highly esteemed sources of specialty coffee.
In 2013, after visiting El Cedral many times, establishing connections with coffee producers and specialty coffee buyers, he finally found a beautiful property, bought it immediately and the following year started his first Pacas varietal plantation.
In 2018, he found another beautiful piece of land with extraordinary properties and the potential to produce incredible coffees. He purchased it and started planting Geisha coffee and other varieties -like SL28- the same year. This is how ‘La Salsa’ was born.
Everytime we have the privilege to cup one of his coffees, Benjamin’s passion, dedication and resilience shines through. The result? A cup filled with Orange blossom and Mango.
A brotherhood spanning for more than a decade!
We always welcome Benjamin with open arms. For over 10 years he has been a key figure in the growth of our Producers Series lineup. Without Benjamin’s relationship, the likes of Pedro Moreno and Maria Olimpia Cruz among other extraordinary Honduran producers, would have never reached our roasters and Paul’s recent visit to Honduras pushes our relationship with these Central American producers to the next level.
