Gatomboya comes from Nyeri County in Central Kenya. Gatomboya Factory is one of four washing stations that is part of the Barichu Farmers Cooperative Society. Gatomboya has been made famous for the quality of coffee that's produced here, however, It’s the values held by the Barichu Farmers Coop that has forged long-standing relationships with coffee roasters around the world. A nearby river is diverted and runs through Gatomboya Factory, providing the mill with clean water to process their coffee. Around 600 local farmers work with the mill, growing SL28, SL34, Ruiru 11, and Batian varieties. Gatomboya is a striking coffee. With stewed rhubarb and oozing toffee, Gatomboya is the perfect coffee to draw the curtains on the Kenyan coffee season.
